The Mi Box, not the newer S version, just received a firmware update a couple of hours ago that adds automatic refresh rate switching, this alone makes it the second best Android TV player behind the much more expensive Shield TV.

Update also claims to fix wake up problems, improve wifi stability and connectivity issues as well as improve bluetooth stability. All much needed fixes. Thanks for the heads up, had to force an update/search for it to show up on my end.

With the latest firmware update the older one is better plus the older one can play the HD audio formats which as far as I'm aware the S version can't.

It is often referred to as that, I call it the Mi Box and the new one is the Mi Box S.
