What are the best settings to input into DrTCP?

It would seem that there is no real "best" value. It differs from connection to connection. Some people have better luck using 1292 as opposed to 1352, but for me 1292 was worse, so I am still on 1352. Initially I have mine on 1392, at it performs the same as 1352 ... So yeah, I guess the "best" way is to play around and compare the different values.

Seems best on 1352.

What about tcp Receive Window setting? Mine is currently set to 62976, yet my speeds attainable are worse than wading through knee-deep pig swill.

Incidentally my signal strength according to utTracestar is -82 (7/10 Good), tower load is 3, 40ms, 1km.

I'm using the settings in Seburn's sig and my desktop modem runs like a faaking champ.

The IBurst techies all recommend 1352 as the preffered MTU value. You may have better luck with a lower value, such as 1300 or 1290, but don't go higher than 1352.

erm.. Mr.H yours would probably work fine if you hid the modem under a bed and set the MTU to 5421.

But I've also used higher MTU's and they seem to be okay, some people have recommended higher MTU's if you have a good signal.
