Hi there

I´ll be in Cape Town at this year an will stay there for 6 weeks. During that time I´ll have to some computer work (preparation of mcse-certification - if anyone wants to participate in a preparation group you´re welcome to contact me) and therefore a fast internet access would be extremly useful. Maybe somethere in the forum can help me - I also hope that I´m right here with my problem.

Which bandwith do the wireless products provide?

Are there any possibilities to lend/order only for 6 weeks?
Maybe there are some third party providers offering that service "shorttime wireless access" for tourists, short-time visitors like businessmen or students?

As I´m also looking for an accomodation (flat/room) the ideal solution for me would be someone with broadband access who has a room/flat to let.
Some data on my person: 37y, male, studied computer science, can provide any kind of network/computer support in the area of Microsoft products (client + server systems).

Thanks for any kind of information and sorry that not all information are directly related to dsl ;-)

Hehahahahehaha, sorry. Sentech only allows for 24 month or 12 month contracts, and you'll be raped monthly as well as initially by having to pay R 3500 for the modem, R 500 for "activation", then R 500 monthly. Also, you may find that it doesn't work. Just search the rest of this forum for more information about the quality and integrity of Sentech.

SA is a great place though :-) You should definately come visit :-) If you absolutely need a broader band, use the telkom ADSL service, just don't get a contract. And you'll be capped at 3GB... but trust me, it's better than Sentech.

setup cost is pretty steep but u can claim R1200 back when ur done. starts at about R300 odd bucks a month i think.
