It is equally noteworthy to acknowledge that the general population consider you and the company that you work for to be nothing more than a bunch of extortionists who would crumble in a free market and disappear completely without the government protection you currently enjoy.

Two inconsistencies;
1. selling the same item to different clients at differentiated pricing.
2. if it was opened up completely, imagine how many jobs could then be created.

This is preposterous, if the prices are high for ESTABLISHED FOREIGN CORPORATES to interest them to invest in this country, and government is inclined to interfere to protect interest of the same country, than dear friends there is only one solution.

Government needs to slash those prices by enforcing them via regulatory body, or opening FAIR window of opportunities for OTHER companies to build a HEALTHY COMPETITION.

But that would be like cutting ones own legs, as they GOVERMENT are the majority shareholder of 38 percent.

Something is wrong with this picture.

They should simply focus on getting more competition for Telkom! Open the market now! There are tons of companies who can give Telkom a run for their money. I'd wager money on it that Telkom would shrink to below 5th in the telecoms fixed line industry within a decade if the market was opened properly. Now we have an Indian company to kamastag give Telkom competition. It is all nice and all, but come on! GET SERIOUS on Telkom's ass for a change!
