Blacklisting phone without Simcard

An insurance company cannot reject your claim because you are unable to blacklist your phone. There are many reasons why a phone cannot be blacklisted, especially if it was only used on wifi and never registered to any specific network. Report them to the Insurance Ombudsman if you are struggling.

Yeah makes sense, if I am unable to get the phone blacklisted I will go this route.

It shouldn't really matter as it's all a shared list between the lot of them, but I seem to recall it was Vodacom last time round.

Thanks, according to FNB. Their interface requires a cell number, so there is some backend check on their systems to see if the two match.

I don't even understand what the point.
The phone had two SIM card slots.

So if I had a SIM card in it they would only be able to disable the one sim card slot.
Fantastic, what a brilliantly thought-out solution.

Now I have to go to a Pakistan cell shop to get an already Ricad sim so that I can phone Vodacom. :ROFL:

Hmm with physical SIM slots there should be an IMEI for each slot.

Often why you see dodgy phones being sold with “only one slot works” vibes.

The phone was stolen, you report it to the police, and they give you a case number. It's as simple as that.

I tried to tell this to the police lady, that was on her phone, with sunglasses , without a badge.
But she sentme home with a form.

Oh, they did that with you as well.

I reported the officer at every email I could get. I even involved the local papers.

The dude really irritated me. So I had to go 21:30 with the next shift. They helped me with zero issues.

Some police are just lazy.

My insurance payed out my stolen phone as soon as I showed proof from FNB that they cannot blacklist my IMEI.
 
My phone is not even insured....I guess i shouldn't bother then.
But thought maybe someone saw something, area is full of cameras also (woodmead and pretoria road), lots of other cars also

I am more annoyed at the police lady (I refuse to call her officer) then the thief.

I don't know in what province you are but I sent to these.

The second one is Western Cape specific.
An inspector called me today and is coming to see me because he is investigating the case.

I was really surprised by the call so clearly somebody is actually doing their work.
