bluetooth link vs lan

Hi there, last night I connected 2 laptops via bluetooth, just to transfer some files. But it went so slow 75k bytes per sec, so I stopped it, and used my normal lan cable, which was much faster. So I wonder, if I use my phone for internet, can it be possible that the bluetooth link can slow things down? I mean, with the new 3g hsdpa speeds, I thinks the normal usb cable connection will be better. I saw a Thread on this site earlier regarding this, but didn't find it. Pls guide me.

Bluetooth is speed limited. Its nice to tranfer files wireless to and from cellphones/pc.

the bigger copy work should go over 100mbit lan or 1000mbit lan, or minimum
108mbit wireless lan(108mbps wireless lan is still slower than 100mbit normal lan even when the pc's are 3-4meters from eachother)

Should be quite a bit faster, easier and more reliable using the usb cable instead.

The blueteeth are terrible slow

I use both and USB and Bluetooth and dnt realy notice a speed differance when browsing.

With gprs I dont think the bluetooth speed will be an issue, but with faster internet like 3g, it will be. I just cant understand why bluetooth is so slow then. Why then develope new techno thats not faster. And for me to use bluetooth is easy, but for someone who battle to understand simple pc isues like my mother in law,I dont thinks bluetooth is an option. For them the cable is better.

I'm using 3G nokia 6680 and motorola V3x blue tooth doesnt seem to slow it down

Okay, you've convinced me, but why is it then slow when I transfer files via bluetooth? This is why I just love this site, you get the info you want, when you want it, and from the experts self. I mean who else can I phone on a public holiday, and get info on bluetooth? Thanks a lot
