errr, this is gonna be a basic question, but how do i browse files on my PC that is connected to my home network? i can browse my Mac files from my PC but i havn't a clue how to do it the other way around. on the pc i just type in my Mac's IP adress and i go straight to the shared folder.
pleeease help :) wana transfer all my important stuff so i can get rid of the pc forever lol.

The way I do it is from the finder - ⌘+k then enter smb:// followed by either the name of the pc or the ip address, click on connect and authenticate.

Once you've loaded a network share then you can later access it from your recent items menu (under the apple logo)

Delete my reply?? Apple still suck mate.....
While your opinion is obviously well informed and simply brilliant in its simplicity its hardly relevant to the discussion.

You should be able to see the PC under Network\Servers but it can be pretty finnicky and you need to make sure that the firewall is open.

AFAIK there is a way to do it under Directory Access as well.

Interesting - got anymore details on that? Last time I used DA was to change the workgroup name - apart from that it is one of those apps that lays dormant in my utilities folder :o

jeeeez, are there still people who trawl the forums looking for threads where they can vent their hate for macs? what the hell lol

thanks for the help guys :)

Because they are still waiting for Vista to install.... and for all the hardware to be delivered before they can run the OS.

Shame

This may work : <pc ip address>/c$

eg 10.0.0.10/c$
