Browsing with a Blackberry

Can you use a BlackBerry to browse (and retrieve email from, say Gmail) without subscribing to the Blackberry email 'push' service? I don't think it is worth R140 per month.....

Well, from what I have discovered so for, it is NOT possible to use a BlackBerry for anything except a phone (and, hence, modem) unless you subscribe to the service.

NO browsing
NO Gmail

So.....my Blackberry is for sale, here
