burst speed on hdd's`

can anyone explain to me what this means i looked up on google but couldnt find anything worth anything

i used hdtach and on seagate 80 gig sata 1 drive i got 133mb
but my samsung i just bought got 208mb/s sata 1 as well?

ok, not sure if this is 100% correct, but burst speed, is the max speed that a drive can transfer to the system for a very short period of time. It is possible to exceed the 150MB/s of SATA if the data that is requested is sittin in da HDD cache, which would explain why u got 200MB/s

Burst rate is the time it takes to read one sector, given the head is in the correct position, while the sustained rate is taken over a couple of seconds and includes the necessary seek and rotational delays.

Hmmm.. ill have to move mine then, you see I keep mine on my speedy HDD for windows and games...
No wonder everything is so slow. And I just wanted speedy pr0n.
