Business Account with Fixed IP's or Managed Colocate Server??

[hsmnel]

Which would be the better option. I need to run my own site were users will log in and enter data. Also running a mailing list for a client and 3 other websites for small businesses.

My 2 options:

1. 512K Uncapped Business ADSL with fixed IP's. Setting up and running my on server. Cost R1500 setup plus R1500 monthly.

2. Renting a windows managed colocate server from one of the ISP's. Setup cost +- R3000 and +- R1200/month.

Option 2 seems the better in terms of managing and upkeeping of the server.

Option 1 is more flexible in terms of loading my own software.

Not sure which way to go.

Any comments, suggestions on which option?

how about co-locating *your* server for R800 per month at hetzner?

Then you get all the benefits

Hi hsmnel

Definitely, that ISP hosting fee you were refering to is outrages. Goto hetzner.co.za for local dedicated co-lo hosting, provide your own box(whatever your needs require) and vuala, much cheaper.
