Can a student apply for MyWireless?

I'm a student and I have a bank account with no balance. (I don't use bank account effectively)

Do I have any chance to get my application approved on 128k package?

Maybe is there an such option for deposit or something.

I would suggest that you get some relative to make the application on your behalf

Dont even bother applying. I made that mistake. Unless you are a student that earns minimum 5000 gross per month AND a good credit record (ie. credit card) you are wasting your time applying. Deposit or no deposit.. which is just a rumour/pipe dream anyway.

The only way is to get someone who meets the criteria to apply then pay them. This is what I am doing so now I have MyWireless 128k and I'm a student. Yes, I can afford it but you cannot possibly convince Sentech that you can pay. They wont even bother looking at your application if you dont earn enough.

I find it completely unreasonable that Sentech intends to treat Joe public as if he/she is some sort of large-scale business customer. I feel that they've completely lost the plot with regards to the requirements of their target market (though admittedly this is the first time they've ever brought out a consumer level product).

I mean come on though, no other ISP or service business requires that you jump through the various hoops that Sentech has (the hoops which serve to cut out a large part of their potential market), and then also wants to tie you into a business-level 2 year contract. It's totally ridiculous.

Their service doesn't exactly cost R150.00 per month. Also their service includes a pretty expensive modem. I can understand them wanting some form of Return on Investment protection (not that I'm agreeing with all their business practices)

Just go try and get a cellphone these days, on business contract. You'll be submitted to pretty high scrutiny too.
