Sorry but don suggest that an 86 year old must upgrade his beloved Windows 7. However, my 'unsupported Chrome" is killing memory and some websites, like X, is nor reachable. Personal experience means a lotto me - Should I switch Superium, Thorium, Firefox ESR or ?. Thanks peter

I have just 'upgraded' from Windows XP to 7, with Chrome 109 and don't have the same issues. Have you tried cleaning the browser cache (and or cookies and history)? Unless you have a very old PC with multiple tabs and windows open, this should not be an issue.

Select Delete browsing data (or SettingsPrivacy and securityDelete browsing data).

P.S. I consider the inability to open X/Twitter to be a plus (sarcasm...)

Superium works great, but you’ll get some RAM hogging on occasion. But I would suggest giving it a go.

Also, after you run it once and you terminate the session, fire up old chrome again and it will work ))
