Condition of the copper network

Who cares about the condition ?

They can take 1 years profit, hire the staff required [on contract basis] and redo all the cabling in one foul swoop.

5 billion rand buys a lot of copper.

But why should they ?

Telkom uses thinner cables purely to bring down the resistance, especially for long distance.

You didn't study electrical or electronic engineering did you?
The thinner the wire (smaller cross section) the higher the resistance.

The thinner the cable the cheaper it is to purchase.
