Guy I struggled for so long to get ports to get forwarded on the cybersmart generic 2/2+ router and finally got it working!
Log into your router and click on firewall. !!!DO NOT ENABLE THE FIREWALL!!!
If you enable the firewall then most of the internet traffic will be blocked!
Step 1- Make a rule number. Any will do.
Step 2- Direction of traffic -Select inbound (from internet to lan)
step 3- Source IP Address(es) Leave them all just the way they are. This means all ip's will be allowed.
step 4-Source Port This should be 1 in the first box and 65535 in the second box.
step 5- Destination IP Address(es) This is the ip of your lan. It would be something like 192.168.1.X where x can be anything from 1-34. Please just theck your ip and enter them in both boxes. The first 1 aswell as the second 1!
step 6-Destination Port This would be the port that you want to forward! You will notice that the second box you wont be able to enter anything. Dont worry it will take the same port that you entered in the first box. The port you want to be forwarded!
step 7- Protocol If you know what one you would be using then select it. If you dont know then you will need to make a new rule with the diffirent
Protocol's.
step 8-Action Obviously this has to be set to "allow" and NOT block
There you go you have successfully forwarded a port!
PLEASE DO NOT ENABLE THE FIREWALL AS THIS WILL BLOCK EVERYTHING THAT WE ARE TRYING TO UNBLOCK!
Peace!
