Hmmm. I emailed them asking for the upgrade, but my first line was, Can I still use it with network cables until I get a wireless NIC... So hopefully that should sort it out.

Bummer, that I got my 10Gigs local already... It prob gonna get to the end of the month and I havent even used any of it, but paid for it... Filipit

WA 10GB local Only acc? I already ate my 10GB account within +-7Days.

But Cybersmart works rather fast afaik. You should have enough time to use that 10GB. Was at their "OFFICE" once. They was friendly and I was in(after going through 4 security gates) and out(after going through 4 security gates again) with that stock modem :sick: in 1 minute Flat. :D

First of all. Yea, Cybersmart are very efficient. I know that, but they have to courier the router down to me and whatnot...

Second: I am new to the SA servers and Newsservers, so it will take me a while to find out where to find them and how to use them and what the good ones are.

Third: Those nice chaps at WebAfrica said they will just freeze my account for this month, until I get the router sorted out, then they will 'unfreeze' it, so I can use the 10Gigs... (Therefore, if it goes into next month, I wont have to pay for this month of not using). That is really good service.

I have only been a customer for a day. But, I am impressed :D

Serious? Maybe it just a firmware difference. Can you put it into bridge mode? Did u see my screenshot? I dont have anything of the sort

Just out of interest. I went to firmware upgrade, then help. They had a different firmware release, so I tried to install it, but it said invalid file header or something (donwloaded it twice, so it wasnt corrupted during download)...

But hopefully getting wireless Billion one soon... Maybe will be A for Away then
 
I didn't see the bridge mode setting on the http interface.
they must have changed the firmware and took that setting out.
for the firmware upgrade, I think the cmos on the pc board must be a custom programmed one that needs a certain firmware with a cybersmart signature or something.

I will check it out. I assume you can only go on if you are with IS or whatever.. oz I've seen some talk saying IS is better that SAIX, or visa versa.

I don't know. But hey! These people should be in charge of ADSL in SA, instead of Telkom. Then we would be cooking
 
So yea. Cybersmart sending me a Billion 7300 Wireless router, with 4 (lan) ports aswell. Getting here friday. So should be all good. Its only R250 upgrade fee or so, from Cybersmart router. Think its worth it. But now I'm gonna have 2 weeks til end of month. Dunno if I should ask WA to unlock my account and cram in the 10Gigs local.

But I'll feel like an idiot, I just told them to lock it, coz I thought I wouldnt have a router till next month... Ah filipit

Yep, Cybersmart's the best.;)
They gave me a brand new Billion 7300 4 port router and its not locked down!
I can set it up to do anything :cool: ever make the coffee:eek:

You can cram those 10GB into this month still, that is If you know What you want to download (Like a few new Linux Distro's etc etc :p).

Dont worry about WA. Just talk to someone on the WA Chat and tell them you want to activate/unlock your account now - you dont need to give them reasons or anything. With WA, you are the customer! Not the other way around like with Telkom :D

So um. this router is more complicated than I am clever. It's got millions of settings for encapulation etc. any1 have a billion 7300 router. can u tell me how to get it into bridge mode so I can set up my 2 accounts?

Configuration => WAN => ISP
On the Main WAN Connection Configuration => Click the Change link
On next page select RFC 1483 Bridged and click Next.
On the next page select set VPI = 8, VCI = 35 and Encapsulation Method = LLC Bridged
Click Apply and then at the bottom right of the screen click the Save Config so that the new settings are saved to flash memory and not lost if there is a power failure.

Now set up your PPPoE connection(s) from your PC.
