Hoping someone can give me some pointers. I need to go and test a dialup connection between 2 PC's at a client of mine. Haven't been there myself, but would like to prepare.

He's got 2 shops. PC's running Windows 98. ISDN lines at both sides. Someone has setup a dialup connection between the 2 sides, but he thinks it's not working. I need now to go and test it.

Do you just need to make a connection on both sides to accept incoming calls, and to dial up to that machine? If it says OK, you're connected, how can you test it? Browse the network to see if you can see both PC's, ping, etc?

have not done this in years but i think it would work out-of-the-box.
network options, somewhere close to direct cable connection, if it is not there you need to install it. something similar to a dialup server ... can't remem ...
one would be the dialup server the other would be the client ... the 'server' would assign the ip's
don't shoot me if this is not left :o ... i mean right!
