Yes Yes, everyone is saying "Is this guy for real?". But I don't actually know what else I get with MyWireless. I suppose purely from the fact that I have been so happy with my downloading [:)] and surfing [:)], I never even thought about anything else.

SO, what else do I get [?]

Telkom who?

You do...

It's something like (USERNAME)@sentechsa.com

You dont get newsgroups (unless you whine mightily) - I really miss a number of deviant alt.binary.*****.****** newsgroups that I was fond of..

You also get the fun of watching the internet empty of all those l33t lil hackers with callmore, at 6.55am on monday mornings as they have to disconnect their modems..

and bragging rights about having a product that has nothing much to do with Telkom :P

Okay, so

Anyone know what the SMTP, POP addys are ? I assume once you have those, you L/P will be the same as your Account L/P... ?

any clarification here ?

I could clarify that yes

your account user and password would be the same for everything yes

but

its not the same as you stated on your application form, for some odd reason, your username/password you chose on application (don't even know why we did a check if it exists or not, and the fact that you have to fill in a form and fax it to them physically, totally goes beyond my reasoning for why they wanted the online application instead of normal send/receive fax option or even telephone application like most companies have, but i am rambling...)

so the username/pass you chose won't be used, and they wont even tell you what that is, you have to call them to find that out (thats what i needed to do)

From userguide :

Email account settings

1. Access to your e-mail via your web browser will be available at the following address : http://mail.sentechsa.com
2. Your MyWireless email address for the service will be [email protected]
3. Your email login username will be the same as your access username.
4. Your email password will be the password you had chosen at registration
5. The POP3 (incoming mail) server on your email software (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) is pop.sentechsa.com
6. The SMTP (outgoing mail) server on your e-mail software (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) is smtp.sentechsa.com

If you use newsgroups seriously I would like to suggest that you use www.easynews.com rather thyan the local newsgroups which tend to miss 90% of the posts. It costs plus minus $9 for 6 gigabytes per month and has some excellent feautures such as a global newsgroup search. I have not yet come across one incomplete post in the year I have used them. And since you are not capped on mywireless it really does not matter whether they are overseas based.

Not sure about all that, but in my case they where exactly as I stated in the online application, Since receiving my modem I have had no need to contact Sentech at all.

And thanx jhbgirl, worked like a charm.

cheers all.

Thanks for the help, as usual, I'm the only brave (or is that stupid) person to ask the stupid questions. [:o)]
