Telkom ADSL is the greatest!

I have a 512 connection. Been quite slow lately - but don't I feel the fool for complaining about slow speeds to the Telkom ADSL Helpdesk recently!

Just did a Telkom HTTP speed test and apparently my line is doing 16129 (kiloBytes/second)!

Just a pity my download manager only uses 14Kbps of that bandwidth...

Sorry to burst your bubble - but your download manager is probably giving you a more accurate measurement as its not caching the speed test.

Can't be that - It must be my superiour super-duper Telkom ADSL line speed.... lol

Come on guys.... le't rather celebrate the fastest broadband in the world!
 
haha, another one of these posts. riaan.... this is telkom. be serious. :P clear your cache and try again.

Either that or you are sitting with an ethernet cable stuck into the speed test sever.

Bu the original was pretty funny, so basically his connection is actually completley screwed and only going at 14kbps.

Thanks Vensters. It seems some ppl are quite touchy when it comes to Telkom issues - to be expected.

This is the first time I exprerienced this. Was quite funny to me to see that 'reported' speed after battling for weeks with speed-test page time-outs.

I did phone Telkom 2 weeks ago about the ongoing slow connection. The operator asked me to open the Telkom speed page (which was incorrectly specified/linked to at that time). I told her that I only got a '404 Error type' page. After trying for the 4th time she merely disconnected me... lol

You reach a stage when all you can do is laugh about their absolute incompetence...
 
Yes we are not only stuck with one of the most expensive and slowest internet telephone companies in the world but they are also the worst company for horrific service and gross incompetence:(

Nope, you've got that wrong. They are the BEST company for horrific service and gross incompetence, it's something they excel at!
