I also have a doomsday clock near me every day. It usually runs for 3 weeks and then chimes for a week or so, every month, like clockwork. But it is hopefully due to stop working soon.

It's a great read but the idea of radiation spreading around the world like that isn't that realistic. Sure radioactive particles can be blown in the wind but fallout from nuclear weapons doesn't stay airborne indefinitely and not enough to spread across the entire world.

Collapse of logistics and world trade would be a problem that could result in the collapse of civilization in the South though.
