I have now installed Malwarebytes on the machines infected, lets hope it works.

Anyone else who is facing this on their network?

I cleaned a number of systems yesterday using Malwarebytes full scan
I also followed up with an anti virus scan with updated definitions and also full scan just to make sure.

Doing Malwarebytes Full Scan, Panda Full Scan, so hope for the best

I do.

$luser is in a remote location, no way am I driving over there to fixxit. Sent $luser removal instructions.

By all chances, $luser might just do a reinstall of Windows

The variant I have doesn't get detected by anything but McAfee and Kapersky... see OP. AVG doesn't pick it up and manual scan of the file with Malwarebytes says it's clean.
