Aah thanks now we know why my connection was so slow...

I am sure that telkom will use this excuse. But I fail to see how one person is going to make a diffrence. I suspect that even if all of us do this type of traffic locally that the effect whould hardly be noticed. http://zahub.kicks-ass.net

prbly wont tell us how u did it cause otherwise the poowers that be will make it so that ure shot down to the masses again.
well good luck and have fun with ure r4p4g3

New service by Telkom broadband speeds up to 5kbps for only R1k a month. heheh

Armitage, it's no secret. There is now a DC++ hub hosted in SA. Check out http://zahub.kicks-ass.net

and cause the hub is LOCAL, you get fullspeed, even when capped :-p

What the f*** did you download to rack up 110+ gigs???

Just imagine where SA would be now if it weren't for Telkom

At least 70% of that was international . whahah

Hmmm I am not sure if posting your total gigs used is a good idea guys.

I can almost see Mr White pointing out all these figures you posted and saying to the media -

"SEE, now thats why Telkom needs to protect thier customers, from the bandwidth ABUSERS at MyADSL. Hell they even brag about how much bandwidth they use, imagine how much worse it would be if Telkom didn't implement some control"

Get the idea ?

Asnogard has a valid point. If I were Mr White, the first thing I would query is how you could possibly use that amount of bandwidth for legitimate purposes?

You people are essentially taking a microphone and broadcasting to anyone out there that you are pirating software on a large scale. Don’t you find that a bit stupid? Especially knowing that this forum gets trolled by Telkom, Sentech and media types?

Whatever happened to good old commonsense?

A couple of ways I could use up 110gb /month:
- internet radio
- ftp transfers
- sharing/downloading legal software like redhat iso's
- running a webserver
- running a mailserver

anyway it's nobody's else's business how people utilise their bandwidth. Assumptions...

Unfortunately in the US the RIAA make it their business [;)]

Ye maybe it is a bit silly to post our usage . But ppl get so pissed off with telkom . Alot of people just do it to get back at telkom...

But as reech says , there are quite a few ways to reach a figure like 150GB . An FTP will do the job pretty quickly.
