Hi all

With hot topic concerning the looming cap, it hit me that downloading stuff can be quite an addictive habit. Of course we now have an excuse or "testing" iBurst before the cap is enforced, but in general I wonder about the behaviour of some individuals if there was NO cap!

So here's the self help list of questions to determine your download habits:

A. What do you do with the stuff you download?
1. I hardly look at or install most of the stuff I download.
2. I hardly use any of it.
3. I try it once or twice and then discard it.
4. I Evaluate the stuff I find usefull and discard the rest.

I this not a strong reason for all the whining about the cap?

i generally download when I require it...

It's pointless trying to stay on top of new software releases and besides being in my industry M$ partner and Macromedia Aliiance partner the groovy **** I get anyways...

music software... now there's a different story :D

I think the majority of people just download because they can and mostly it can be done quicker than on Tel@#$!!

My biggest ones are game demo's. Gotta try before you buy. But they're really massive - like 650 MB a shot. Sheesh. With a 3GB cap you can get 3 demo's a month - silly.

And that makes each demo R599/3 = R200 so you may as well buy the game for R299 anyway even if it is crap!

R599 isn't the cost of 3gb its the cost of connecting to the network plus 3gb, we'll have to see how much more gb's are before we can put a price on it, i like downloading tv shows

I download what I need.

I used to be addicted to downloading anything when I was on a diginet line - until I realised what an utter waste of time it is.

Of course, there's TV programs and movies available that I'd like, but with 3gig, your up **** creek with half a paddle, so there's no point.

yeah i agree, with no cap you're gonna go crazy and then you might calm down and only go for a certain content type but 3GB is so tiny that you may as well not even bother anymore

if you get the NAG you get all the latest demo's and trailers, AND reviews of the games, to birds with one stone so you can use your cap for movies and chatting on MyADSL!

Raise your middle finger if u have thousands of mp3's and only listen to about 20 tracks the whole months ;)

I'm a subscriber to NAG so I'm hopefully getting it today..I can't wait and now I don't have to waste my cap so much in fear of NAG not putting a demo I want on the DVD...Also in giving us a DVD, they have guaranteed my next subscription.

there is no cap so how have you wasted your bandwith before now on iburst?
