Drm protection management

Hi Guys could anyone help me out here the Sony ericsson v800 wont allow you to use your mp3's to play as ring tones beacause of drm is thier a way/software that will either allow you to convert your mp3's to drm files or to allow you to just distroy the drm protection management on the phone please i cant take these stupid ringtones anymore.

Store your MP3's on your mem card.Then only your MP3's can play as ringtone

Not working

I have a 512mb memory card they are all stored on my memmory card when i go to select the mp3 as a ring tone i get the message "Cannot use this file as DRM protection key is missing"

Hi

Theres a drm encoding package from the sony-ericson developement site which you can use to encode and then play - bit tedious but it works. I just can't find the link at the moment - will post soon. Maybe someone else has this?

think you have to register to download, but its free

if you unbrand your v800 ( a v800 is a vodafone branded z800 ? ) you are no longer restricted to drm'd mp3s, not sure where in SA you can get this done but there is a small shop near victoria station in london that will do it for you while you wait....

Let me get this right, this phone refuses to playback mp3's unless the mp3 has some DRM code on it ?

to clarify, the phone plays mp3's no problem as well as a few other formats, but you cannot use an mp3 as a ringtone unless it has been drm'd.

I have this tool for some reason i add the files then send the file to my phone still no joy i have even tried sending the files seperatly tell me does the phone need to be connected at the time of adding the mp3 to the tool,i dont wish to change to an unbranded v900(z800) beacause i have found a glitch in vodafone live so that im able to browse normally for free with out even openning vodalive.anyway victoria station London a tad far Mate

weird - it works for me on my V800 - can you play this in music player on the phone? When you create the file does it have the ext .drm?
