Hi

Just a question, is there a way to change the HDD of my explora?
I know it is encrypted.

Also it is safe to pull it out of the explora and plug it into my PC to troubleshoot?

Yes you can do that, S.M.A.R.T will still be accessible.

Take a picture for me of the inside, I'd like to know what fan it uses.

You'll void your warranty... getting a swap out at DSTV will be cheaper than buying a new HDD, never mind the hours trying to duplicate the structure & encryption, but let us know how it goes

True, but should he have a HDD lying around he doesnt need to encrypt it, the decoder will format it accordingly.

I did do a replacement today as it was only R600, i thought it would be more expensive.

At multichoice, I saw the decoder working, but when I got home and plug it in no signal.
I tried a reset a still, no signal and Tuner 2 says recording in progress.

When I called the helpdesk they said i must get a installer out, but #$#@ changed in the installation, but the decoder.

Any ideas??

Just thinking of cancelling dstv as it is to expensive and all benefit i get is catchup and sports.

Just a quick question I have an older HD PVR Decoder collecting dust in my storeroom - can I pull out the HDD from that stick it into an enclosure and use it to store stuff on or would it not work ?
