DVD-VR & DVD+VR Question

Hi All,

Is there any special roms or software needed to be able to view this media type on a pc, or does anyone know what i need to do to get this working?

When I insert the disk into my pc, it shows up as blank; Yet the data IS on the disk still.

The video was taken with a sony handycam if memory serves.

ANY help would greatly be appreciated.

Finalize the disk on the camera.

my DVD ROM would not play certain discs. i did a firmware upgrade which fixed the problem.

i think the above answer (arf9999) is more suited to your problem.

Thanx for your replies,

The only problem with closing the session, will be that i wont be able to edit it anymore on the cam, and thats exactly what this format is for if im not wrong.

I will try and find a firmware update for the rom aswell, but i agree with andres101, your answer does seem like the most likely one.

Another suggestion i got from someone, is to try software like Pinnacle Studio. I'm downloading the demo from their site, maybee we have some luck there.

Which camera is it? if it has USB connection, you can use it as a dvd drive on your pc...

AFAIK you can "un-finalize a disk"... but you lose a bit of space on the disk (20MB or so) each time you do it.

Not sure what model Handycam he uses, but I'll let him try what you suggested.

Didn't know about the "unfinalising", but that can help aswell then.
