Early Christmas hardware upgrades

OK it seems like I'm soon gonna be upgrading my DVD-writer and my monitor and I need some advice on what to purchase.

For the monitor, I'm looking at a 17" or 19" LCD. Price I'm willing to pay is between R1500 and R2000 maybe slightly more. I do occasionally play some games like PES5 but nothing serious.

For DVD-writer it's definitely gotta be a dual-layer one. I'm not sure if you get dual-layer Lightscribe drives but that would be ideal.

Digital Planet also has it, but deal with them at your own risk lol.. they're very good when stuff is in stock, otherwise its a nightmare.

my advise for a monitor if your on a budget is a 19" hanns-g lcd

awesome i paid like 1600 bucks for it and its amazing for the price

the picture quality is not as crisp as other much more expensive models but it still looks great and has a 8ms responce time

did i mention its huge ahahahah hanns-g FTW

I bought one of those Lite-on's for my wife's PC. Great stuff. A VERY fast ripper and reader.....and is also very quiet! I want to fit in my PC and give her my LG!

The Lite-on is much better than the LG in my opinion.
