Does anybody else here use the easynews news server? Just lately my connection to them has been exceptionally slow. They have an IP trace utility which I used discovered that the problem is at the following hosts (10% packet loss and VERY slow speeds):

hkg-ip-dir-hongkong-pos-6-1.telkom-ipnet.co.za
rrba-ip-lir-1-pos-6-3.telkom-ipnet.co.za
rba-cache1-vif0.saix.net

I connect to easynews using http through a web browser. I don't have any other speed problems that I have noticed; so far just my connection Easynews.

Are you using reget?

Alternatively - have you tried downloading on port 81?

Reget, the download manager? I use Firefox, Flashgot, and something called "free download manager".

However, the site is slow all round. Takes like 2 minuttes just to connect to the easynews.com site froma browser.

All of this only started yesterday. Before that it was fine. Also a friend is having exactly the same issue connecting to the site.

I got very quickly into the site, but searching newsgroups are slower. Maybe the new beta index causes this? It was still usable though.

Mines going along nicely - as always.
