Hi there, I'm having issues setting up email on my wife's SonyEricsson Z800i. I have tried two different mail accounts (a hotpop.com forwarder and one of the vodacom4u free accounts) and I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I find it a bit odd that there is no 'username' setting in email settings, and have assumed the 'mailbox' setting refers to that. It really shouldn't matter though, since I'm only trying to send and not receive mail.
When i try sending a mail, the 'finding server' message just times out. I did try the gmail app as well with my gmail account, but that doesn't support attachments and the whole point is to send images.
If it helps, my settings for the vodacom email account (as directed by 111 and support personnel):
Connect using: Vlive! (the same connection used to browse, it works)
Protocol: pop3
Incoming server: pop3.vodamail.co.za
Incoming port: 110
Encryption: No encryption
Mailbox: <international format cell no, without the +>
Password: <same password as used on vodacom.co.za
Outgoing server: smtp.vodamail.co.za
Outgoing port: 25
Email address: Alias specified on vodacom.co.za
Download: Headers and Text
From Name: blank
Signature: blank
Copy outgoing: off
Check interval: off
Does anyone that has a pop account working with this phone perhaps have any suggestions?
