Ever finished FPS games without guides

i finished many games without guides,I guess if i am stuck for at least a week i will go to a guide,Puzzles in games,i mean heavy puzzles like they had in silent hill. For those you need to put 2-3 heads together to work it out

Has ANYONE ever finished Tomb Raider without some sort off cheat? thats one game i could never finish..

No, thats just weird, FPS with a guide?????? Its better to explore, use guides after you finished it first time round for all the secret stuff you have missed.

take it easy on me.. i started gaming this year so some things are not so obvious to me.... but hey! now i know... BTW FEAR is 5 times better than QUAKE except the bosses... Bosses in FEAR (at least up to the level am at : interval 8) are easier to kill than QUAKE 4 IMO...

I played some Star Wars FPS once, definitely needed a guide on the one stage because after half an hour I still couldn't get it. It turned I had to break though something and needed to really hammer that thing to break it...

AVP2, SWJKJA, MOHAA and Star Trek Elite Forces2 (all old games)....Half Life2, Doom 3, TombRaider (all of em) I cheated all the way. Since those games I've become a bit of an FSX addict (got naar of shooters)

I've never used a guide for any game except for Full Throttle (one of the classic LucasArts games) and Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare. Anyone remember the point-and-click puzzle genre? Anyone remember when games were still mentally challenging? Those were the days...
