Everquest 2

I must say this and expect some flames, if you are 13 and under fell free to play WOW. You will feel quite at home. If you expect to interact with other players and get some social aspects goings avoid WOW.

K so I am totally stoked on EQ2 but it is personal preference.

totally stoked indeed :D

Seriously tho, I really strongly disagree with you there, and so will every other WarcraftIII/WoW fan I think. I was hooked from the day I heard the rumours of this game... to be playing a character in the big world of warcraft.

From my own experience WoW is very very much a social as well as solo experience.

If you want to do the boring grinding stuff to get to lvl40 and mount asap, you'll rake in the XP much quicker when going alone (generally). Other things like developing your professions is also not the most social activity.

On the other hand though you have the instances. This includes compulsory social interaction, without it you will never make it through the instance alive. It requires teamwork and awareness, everybody knows his role in the party and the one cannot survive without the other, communication is key :) The instances are also very rewarding in terms of XP and money.

Elite quests are also far better in groups.

Honestly, I've met a lot of people. As I am 50% dutch and I play on EU servers, its always cool doing a quest with a party and afterwards find out that they are dutch. That usually leads to more questing and power lvling with the same people later (in my experience they are always friendly and skilled players)

And I guess I shouldn't forget to mention my fellow South Africans I play with. There's always lots of total nonsense, smacktalk and a few laughs in guild chat.

Ah well in the end I'm probably just another fanboi, you should stick to what you're familiar with.

Or they could always make one big MMORPG and combine all the big MMORPG's into that so us fanbois can declare war on each other :D

I too, am completely addicted to WoW. This is my first MMORPG, so I can't really comment on how it compares to other MMPORPG's.

What I can say, the thing I like about WoW is that you don't have to be a uber RPG geek to level and enjoy the end game content. I think it caters quite well for both the casual and hardcore gamer. ;)
