excel mobile cannot open file!

i cannot open an excel file on my windows mobile 5.0 device as it says "it is password protected". the document opens fine on my laptop and dsektop (it is a freeware download). as i am not the author i have no idea what the password is. does anyone else have the same problem with excel mobile and how do i solve this...thanx
