"fair" coverage

If you type in www.ibust.co.za you get redirected to the axxess website rofl....good one.

I went to the iburst website, just to see whats going on you know and clicked on the coverage map...where I was shocked to see that I fall under the "fair" coverage...

According to the signal strenght, I think 30-40% is given as fair..
Does this mean my overall signal and download speed will never get better??
Also does this mean I will never get 1Mps as they promise, even if everything is right from my side?

I was not aware of this and assumed that everyone got the same, if not slightly better coverage?? Should people who get weaker coverage not be paying less then??

Could someone explain this to me please!

I doubt that your signal will get any better unless you move closer to your tower or if they put up another tower closer to you.

As for the "promised" speed, to be fair iBurst never promised that you'd get 1mbps, read carefully and you'll see they say UP TO 1mbps.

Yes I do +1mbps most the time but then I'm in a good position in relation to the tower.

I do not have an antenna.

Yes, I do connect with speeds in excess of 1 Mbps – provided that the iBurst network is stable and I’m on a 196.46.64.XXX IP address.

I do however use antennas at all locations… < 2 Km from towers.

yeah I get 100-120kB/s quite regularly without an antenna.

Also get 120kB constantly, and I connect to the Fourways tower. About 5km away

Don't know if you are reffering to the torrent issue. If you are, I don't use torrents.

So you could also now say 1 out of 50000 have bad speeds Well done iBurst.

hah what do we download, theres stil a 3Gig cap no matter how fast you can use it, I hardly download much thesedays, music if anything.

I doubt that many of the "50,000" even visit this forum let alone post here, but I seriously doubt that we are the only 4 that have good connections.

I download software updates, programs, movies, music and anything else that I see of interest, about +90% of my downloads are multi threaded using FlashGet, and most of it is at 1mbps, some higher and some a bit slower depending on the time of day.
