So i signed up about 2 weeks ago, as many of you know i complimented him on speedy service and turnaround time.

Sunday our powersupply gives up the ghost. Might be a fault supply, might be a powerspike in our building, either way i was willing to pay for a new one and buy a few spares.

Monday - call and no reply,
Tuesday - call and no reply, not even any answer on cellphone, landline.
Wednesday - call/sms and no reply, get an sms back to promise delivery at 4:30pm. No surprise
Thursday - call/sms and yet again no reply, get sms to say power suppy is on route via Ram couriers.

I could have driven to sandton, bought it from iburst, flew to durban and installed this in less then 4 hours! Would have saved me a good few headaches and wouldnt sit with a 4day backlog of work!

Thank you fantastic1. Last time i ever deal with you, expect a call from iBurst head office very soon.

ps. look for a job at telkom, you'd fit right in. No wait, they (eventually) answer their phones.

This is so funny. See this post Fantastic made on the Sentech forum.

Shame.. I wouldnt like to have to reply to a thread like this about me...
But then again I didnt screw up. It would have been alot better if he was just another Telkom guy who you'd expect this from, but he knows what people expect from him.

And he always gloats about his enthusiasm and service etc..
Well good luck defending yourself Fantastic, there will be an excuse/story no doubt?

there is a problem with the electrical at your store, since it is the 2nd power supply device that blew up after you singed up.
We provide the 1st swop out the next day and removed this from another UTD we had in stock. iBurst indicated to us that Power supplies rarely do blow.

I would suggest you check you electrical and have a surge protector plug in your store.

and by the way, i tried keeping in contact with you via skype "NAEEM", since we were mostly on the road.

We ordered a power supply from iburst and it was supposed to have been delivered to us on wednesday but they did not deliver. It eventually got delivered directly to you after we instructed the couriers to do so to avoid any further delays.

I suggest you purchase addtional power suppliers at R 114.00 inclusive (this is the price) iburst have indicated.
or you could check your electrical and install a surge protector.

Our name is Not deceiving in anyway.....

EDIT: OK DAMN! I typed all this info and realised maybe naeem doesn't need it :( ,but either way perhaps it will be helpful to others,so.......

Naeem I would suggest getting a DOUBLE CONVERSION ONLINE SINEWAVE UPS if there are site electrical problems, these are the only types of UPS's worth investing in...Keep in mind a 3kVa *enough online time for 5 minutes for 4 PC's , a General Purpose Intel Server, 3 laser printers, 1 Inkjet,a fax machine,iBurst device, a 'typical' Broadband Router and a Switch*. will set you back about R7k *Line interactive is much cheaper but useless, so to speak! So don't be duped into buying these ever, unless you are a home user or your electrical problems are not harmful* calculate your requirements by taking the Amp Reading off all the computer equipment and mulitplying it by 240V.In fact do 2 calculations equipment including printers and faxes and excluding these devices. Your total in each test will be Wattage readings, divide this by a Power Factor of .6 and you will have the total VA required, then select your UPS based on this figure.Remember that if your total comes out to 3kVa or near, it simply means that :
1 - a 3kVa UPS is sufficient
2 - a greater sized UPS just provides you additonal lead time...to power down devices safely........that's all

Whats that proudly south african logo doing on the fantastic1.com website?

fair enough - i'v got an apology from Nisaar which i'll forward to my boss(s)

some points though:
- sentech modem & router to the same plugpoint for over a 1 1/2 years never had a power problem, ever. nontheless i'v logged this to have it checked out. nontheless i'll be there in 3 weeks time and will see for myself what the big hoohaa is.
- i'm on skype ALWAYS 9 to 8pm, trust me when i say you where "offline"

Nisaar, i fully understand where you coming from, i'v been in similar situations, and i apologise if i'v offended you and your company. BUT, think where we (and i) are coming from and try to understand our frustrations.

no internet means:
- my store manager down their cannot email clients or quotes or online banking.
- i cannot update stock files, which means they cannot sell the item at the correct price due to the files not updated. One or two items are fine, when you have over 140 new products, it is nightmarish.
Sentech worked 100's all along but browsing and testing future projects suffered from latency hence my switch to iBurst. Which so far has exceptionally good latency.

- we could not, for 4 days access their sales figures and re-order, and thus guesstimate our import orders and shipments.

-web browsing for staff is the least of my worries for them.

Its all a ripple effect, and couple this with the fact that you did not reply calls/sms/email it frustrates one to no end. Neither could we resolve this within a day or two.

Why where we pissed off?
Well when we signed up you received payment within 5minutes of agreeing, received contract a day later. We NEVER mess ANY of our suppliers with payment issues and in return expect them to offer us the same efficiency and courtesy.

If you are busy, please make sure someone else can reply to our query. Not a voicemail. At least acknowledge our calls and a simple "i'm sorry about this, i'v re-ordered a ps, and it'll be here at xx day and xx time"

Yes i understand diginet is an option, but a VERY expensive one. iburst sentech set me back 1200/month (give or take a few) diginets cheapest quote came in at 7k/month. Besides sentech had uptime for nearly 2 years (bar the bad latency). Lets hope iBurst keeps it going till dsl is available. for a store that barely pushes 2 gigs of traffic i cant see us spending so much on a line.

Not that I hold much regard for the PSA scam but Fantastic1 should not be claiming to be a member id he is not. Maybe he is? Who knows? Im sure it will come to their attention soon enough if he isnt.

Naeem - I am in no way protecting fantastic1.com as your story sounds very sad. But if your business relies so much on internet I would suggest you put some sort of disaster recovery plan in place eg what happens in iburst goes down? not that it is lightly to go down for 4 days but non the less that is why it called a Disaster recovery plan... just a thought.

oh so you on i-burst that you can't get ADSL... me too, have to admit I very happy with it. I still stare at the screen when i seem a download coming down at 100K in disbelief on how we have been missing out.
