Saw on VE3D.com that PC Gamer is of course the first to come out with a F.E.A.R. review. Like two weeks before anyone but the Q&A team has even seen the damn gold copy (those bastards). Anyway, word is, "They seemed to dig the combat, narrative, creepy environments and movie quality audio. Word is the single player portion is around 10-hours long." They scored the game 92%.

Encouraging news, although if we are to take into account that PC Gamer scored DOOM 3 a whopping 94%, one would have to wonder just how good the game really is.

Oh wait a second...

Monolith must not have the same kind of clout with the PCG editors as id and Valve.

Is "clout" the word I'm looking for here, or am I thinking of a different sort of word altogether?

I could not care if the game was hailed as the greatest game ever made by every online reporter. Hell I would not care if it was the main news story on every tv station from here to Cario, there is zero chance of me buying a game for 10hours play.
 
Did you "play" the NAG demo? Based only on that gaming experience:

Nope this is not a game I will buy. Don't like the linear game play. Thou shalt go down THIS passage to kill the clones; felt like I was following a script.
Good thing its a demo, I can delete it...
 
Well its true its almost like a game like Doom3. Everybody could not wait for it and when it came I finished it in about 12hours and forgot about it. Online gaming sucked on Doom3 I wonder if multiplayer would be supported localy and if it would be worthwhile?

I must admit I liked the demo though :rolleyes:
 
I'll borrow from a friend play it finnish it and give it back... Cheap way to pay... and if it is worth buying, c00 i'll buy it, if there is no replay value then no need to fork out R300 buck for it.
 
If it's sold by Vivendi Universal games, it's worth boycotting. I won't touch FEAR with a bargepole. Vivendi will screw it up again, royally.
