On the cost, at first they will cost a lot but so did LCD's and Plasma's but I suspect their price will drop far quicker than LCD's and Plasma;s did.

A while ago I read an article where they said, once SED displays are being mass produced, they will cost less than Plasmas, which is good news, and they'll have a contrast ratio of something like 100 000:1!
