fnb app and fingerprint security

sorry but what are you going on about here?

What am I going on about here? Did you find the statement difficult to understand? Did it not make any sense? Especially the part that where I said I could be wrong? Not many ways to interpret that, right?

This is my experience with the ABSA app and fingerprinting which doesn't work for me. This does not mean I am right, or that that is indeed the cause why my fingerprint authentication does not work in the ABSA app. It was just speculation, and I even said it could be wrong.

You're wrong.

It's already established that your phone cannot be rooted/jailbroken.

Yes, it is possible that I am wrong.

The FNB app's fingerprint uses the one from your phone, there is no additional fingerprint or PIN that needs to be set. Very seamless to be honest.

Agreed, I am glad it's this easy to use. When my GF tries to log onto the FNB app, with her finger though, it still asks her for my password. :)

I needed to enable some extra permissions for the FNB app on my Huawei P9 before the fingerprint unlock feature would activate/work. This also enabled the NFC payments.

This thread is about the FNB app....

Bit of a necro, but has anyone else here found that their fingerprint authentication has stopped working for the FNB App? Mine stopped working in the last few days, <edit>It might have been 2 days ago when the last Android update came through from Vodacom </edit>. I looked for any settings that might have changed but can't find anything obvious.

edit: FNB App version 5.6.2 (67)

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S7:

Nope. I can log in using my fingerprint without issue. Using a OnePlus 6.

Mine stopped working yesterday, do you know the fix?

EDIT: NVM found it.

Change your bank. The clunky FNB app is far too imperialistic. I detest it with a passion. Can't wait to move our business accounts and get rid of that app.

My personal banking is not with FNB, and never will be.

It's not functional?
