Gateway to Internet - Internal IP Address

Hi There,

I want to use my module as a gateway to the internet via the Ethernet port, connected to my switch.

Does anybody knows what is the internal IP address of the Iburst Terminal ?
Or how do I connect to it if it is a dynamic one to change it to static?

I don't want to use ICS of windows (cause I don't want to change my IP map) and I want to user to connect in the same time.

For the moment if I connect with one pc from the network, it ask me login + password and I can connect.

Now if I want to connect with another PC it aske me exactly the same but because the connection is already engaged I can obviously not get connected.

as far as i know the iburst module (as you called it) is a very basic piece of equipment. it does not have a tcp/ip address like some other broadband routers.

i think the iburst "modem", the one with USB and ethernet, is called a UTD.

this UTD needs a computer or router with PPP-over-ethernet and tcp/ip capabilities to "control" it in order to get to the internet. in that respect it is on the same hardware level as a dialup modem.

it is highly unlikely that your switch will be able to do this. you will need

- a windows PC capable of ICS (and probably two ethernet ports) or
- a broadband router capable of PPP-over-ethernet (Linksys,SMC,Gigabyte)

between your switch and UTD to accomplish what you want.

col90, just wondering how many PCs have you installed the iBurst software on?

Also, like kuberkoos says- you need Internet Connection Sharing (I.C.S.) setup on one PC (with 2 x RJ45 "ports") that other networked PCs can connect to via a switch.
