High-end will always be expensive. Wait for the 9800GTif you want mid-end. Will probably be R2500 though.

And let me guess, 9800GT will probably be 8800GT with a new name, just like what Nvidia did when they converted 8800GTS to 9800GTX. Wow.....

I still can't understand why the GTX200 series cards were so expensive? I mean, surely they don't beat the 9800GX2, yet the GTX280 is still priced higher?

9800GX2 is by far cheaper to build than GTX200 that's why it costs less. Nothing to do with performance so much as it has to do with cost :/

Then who in their right mind would buy something that's more expensive, but gives poorer performance?
