Guys

WTF is up when it comes to upgrades???? If I want to renew my contract, I have to pay in like R1000 or more for say a N80.

I go to Vodacom to get a SE K800i and they tell me that I have to pay in R800 .... that is so not freaking fair .... you can get this phone on a Weekender package for free ....!!!! If you are a new subscriber!

I don't want to loose my number so what can I do? Can I cancel my contract and take out a new contract with the same SP thus retaining my number?

I am so pissed off .... the only phones they can offer me free on my weekender upgrade is pieces of junk from Samsung and Motorola.....

Vodacom sucks!

if vodacom let you go onto prepaid after finishing your contract, then do that. I mean you might as well wait a couple of months for number portability to come out and then choose the best deal..I have the same problem with autopage, apparantly i cant keep my number if i dont upgrade....

Is that for real?

Autopage sent me a sms with the special and I upgraded from a Nokia 6820 to a Nokia N70 for free and they also gave me a Nokia Bluetooth headset for free. I got the headset and my new phone on friday morning. I am with autopage with vodacom

Yeah! Vodacom are full of it. Been a voda customer for 10 - 12 years. The tight bstards still made me pay in R400 on a Samsung i750. I keep saying next time, next time.

Vodacom, next time is fast approaching!!

Got told the same thing, due for an upgrade tomorrow but have to upgrade before Feb 2007. Hope these swines finally stick to a deadline and implement MNP by November.

I dont get it - can they really force you to upgrade?

Yes they told me if I wanted to keep my number I had to upgrade/renew the contract. I wanted to just go over to prepaid but they said no can do mista. The pigs indeed.

The bunch of corporate hooligans have got us 'loyal' customers by the balls....

I have been with Vodacom for more than a decade and the least they should do is freaking give me that same deal that they do for new subscribers ...

They sort of force you to remain with them cos your contract is automatically renewed on a month to month basis. An dif you decide to ditch your current SP for a new one you loose you number .... !!!

I hate you Vodacom .... but I can't do without my cellphone...

Well I don't think they can force you to upgrade. But for instance if I don't upgrade by Feb 2007 then I lose my chance to receive a new phone, which I really need because my current one has issues.

Thing is I don't want to sign into another 24 month contract with AutoPlague, want to see what offers the other providers will offer once MNP comes into effect.

It would seem that one is at a disadvantage if one signs with SP's other than Vodacom SP. With Vodacom SP AFAIK you can change your contract to 4U contract once the 24 monts are up. So you keep your number but you don't pay any monthly subs. But you can't do this with the other SP's.

The question then is, what is the incentive to sign with other SP's than Vodacom SP? Are their deals much better than Vodacom SP?

Samsung i750

We have the i750 available on special at R4000, under Vodacom's cost,

Upgrade to another handset of the same / higher value and we can work out a deal for you,

mail me : [email protected]

Ok, so i'm also due for upgrade and this will be my 5th contract with vodacom. I'm on talk 240 and i would like to think that my continual, loyal support of vodacom be work in my favour for upgrade goodies. So I'm actually looking for play station 2 and a decent phone to go with it. You see, i figure that if i purchase my sons christmas present now (ps2), i can store it away until christmas, and not have to worry about his christmas pressie. Now the phone would be for me, and i'd like a n70, n80.. and there are quite a few others out there that are reasonable phones. Yes i'm asking for alot, but i'm a great customer whom seems to spend double on his monthly mobile bill than what he should....
