Haha fail. That’s the only 952 I could find on Scoops site. Didn’t even think to check the port speeds.

Reading up a bit, seems like the 3011 is the way to go, so will have to pleb it with 400Mbps until the new year...

Agh sorry, HAP AC, not the lite. HAP AC should give you 1gbps.

RB3011 installed and this is the result. Disabled all queues and firewall rules, and connected pc directly to Mikrotik.

When I enable rules and queues, and ‘limit’ this pc to 1Gbps, I only get about 480-500Mb/s, so MT Cpu/Ram definitely puts a lid on performance.

700 is still not line speed but I think the ‘problem’ probably lies further upstream. Still, can’t moan, it’s 70 times faster than ADSL!

That's more than likely the bus on the PC now, try with the PC directly into the CPE. What is the current usage of the school? Do you have a graph?

No idea on usage, they always ran around 200-300gb via ADSL.

We don't graph lines for customers, do you have any historic history from the ADSL usage? My question here is 700Mbps going to be any different to 50Mbps or 1Gbps? Does the school for instance utilise tablets for every student for online training that it's relevant for the throughput of the line? We haven't seen a school use above 100Mbps on average as yet.

They also have a SITA fiber line that we used to take some load off the ADSL network, but up untill recently that line was also 10mb and heavily shaped. So they came right with 2x 10mb lines. No tablets at this stage but in pipeline most probably.

The main thing that pulled the most internet was Windows 10 updates after we started upgrading them from Win 7 (have ~180 machines on network) but we recently built a WSUS for Win10 so that will also come down. Moving them from Exchange to O365 so the new line will come in handy with that!

Yeap which is great, the point is there is more than enough bandwidth to go around at 700Mbps Akamai will fill the WSUS locally as well.
