GTA: San Andreas - while we're waiting, awesome mod

Another month till GTA: San Andreas for PC, so I decided to go hunting for mods and came across this :-

Busy downloading now - from the reviews it looks like an excellent mod that differs from the other mods because it's pretty much a Total Conversion, as opposed to a few addons.

Should keep me happy till San Andreas comes along - yep, I have to admit it, I'm a total junkie for GTA - best games I've ever played into 30 years of video gaming :)
 
Too bad for the wait..

I don't quite get why GTA San Andreas is already available overseas and we have to wait another month. I have been waiting for this damn game for so long already, thanks to what I am sure is a deal between Sony Playstation and the makers of the game (always out on Playstation half a year before the pc version) Hrm. Anyway, can't wait. Most enjoyable games I have ever played.
 
Hmmm - don't bother downloading.

The screenshots looked good, the descriptions looked good, the gameplay is crap.

If you like :-

*driving around in perpepetual dark and rain, with no other cars on the road
* tons of "zombies" running at you, or rather, tons of badly reskinned standard models, who for some reason still have the same sound effects as the original game
* missions that make no sense at all
* "new" radio stations that don't work, except for VROCK which features some poor soul singing the most gut wrenchingly awful lyrics to dire guitar work

then this mod is for you.

Waste of 80mb of my cap !
I shoulda realised from experience that user made mods are usually not very good - the effort is there, but the polish isn't.
 
try the ultimate vice city mod from saix file vault,l it is worth downloading
 
d/l'ing now.

Heck, I'm a lost cause - willing to waste another 160mb of my cap when I should be working on a clients website - groan... plus I've got 2 DVD's to watch this afternoon.

Hopeless - ah well, I'll sacrifice next week for a peaceful not-working Sunday - Tommorrow is going to be hell ! :)
 
bb_matt if you want I can download stuff and postnet it to you, it will work out much cheaper than using adsl.. :rolleyes:
 
Well, the "ultimate" mod was also a pile of ****.

The cars are ok, but they seem to appear in every mod - the handling is suspect, it's been tweaked to suit a certain style and I prefer the original cars.

The new buildings and "bridge" show no sense at all, other than "hey look, we can add really unconvincing looking stuff to vice city !"

Another waste of a download.
 
Yep.

It's a piece of cr@p all round in my opinion.

The original is just so much better and outshines any attempts so far to add onto it.
Why don't modders focus on adding new missions to the existing world, instead of trying to change that world ?
 
whos waiting for gta SA?? just download it or go to the flea market
 
I think that by releasing material at different times around the globe, the publishers are actually encouraging piracy (kind of), because people hear how cool it is and so instead of waiting another friggin month, they can now download it (because it has been released somewhwere). I don't understand the logic - they should release worldwide at the same time. I would think sales would benefit. :confused:
 
While some publishers actually are clever (i.e Valve) and release to the world and therefore reduce piracy, Rockstar seem to be living in a fantasy world (well I think they've already got enough money from N. America ;) ).
 
the reason pc games usually come out first on ps2 is cos thier not fully made.
You will notice the pc conversions are always better(graphics sound and playability)

I agree, but when the pc version is launched it should be launched at the same time everywhere! It is bull**** that we have to wait and you lucky sods get if a month earliers
 
valve isn't a publisher its a developer, sierra publish the half life stuff
 
But pc's are superior, if there was no pc there would be no ps2 nuthin
the ps2 ppl think ps2 has athe best graphics but there wrong!
 
I've DL'ed this 3 weeks ago the ISO .......... this is one l33t game dudez

i downloaded the ISO too, it is pretty good, get the +27 trainder by pizzadox, just for fun rampages when you're done with missions, i finished the story line and i've only completed 50% of the game, still gotta do the vigilante and ambulance missions

also get the speedometer mod, its awesome

by the way lilgindauk i hate to call you out again but your idiotic statement about without pc's there would be no ps2 just takes the cake, consoles were out before pc's you knob, pong and atari 2600. also console games are actually better in alot of respects, because the game plays how its supposed to for everyone, pcs are more configurable but that can be a downfall like the sound bugs people get with gta sa. Also the pc version of gta sa doesnt have co-op mode which is the most fun you can have, please learn to think before you speak, maybe if you did that you would still have a 0 postcount
