Hellkom - VodaHellkom?

I am glad that so many people have had pleasant experiences with Vodacom. I was only on their network for a few months way back when sms had just been introduced.

I never experienced bad service from Vodacom.

My avoidance of the company is best seen as a conscientious refusal to putting more money in Telkom's ever-deepening pockets. Unfortunately, half of what one spends on Vodacom lands up going to the Evil Ones, and this is something I cannot do.

I agree that Vodacom has clearly escaped the corporate culture imbued in Telkom, and thank g0d for that. I also agree that Vodacom is a company very distinct from Telkom, but at the end of the day half the profits are still going to the bane of my life, Telkom.

All this being said, I have a deep dislike and distrust of Knott-Craig. Yet on the other hand I don't even have a clue who the leaders of MTN are....

I cannot say that of MTN. Bad billing, bad customer services and overall dissatisfaction from my side.

Just wondering if this was a typo - putting the words MTN and Customer Service in the same sentence? :D

From a MyADSL POV open & constructive discussions make for the best debate,

Just a quickie, ic :- When things go wrong...
1. Do Vodacon as a company have an 'open and constructive discussion' with the customer?:D
OR
2. When you finally get through, do they just open a case (they gotta be prompted to do even that!) make a few promises and then forget about it?
OR
3. Do they just fob you off and tell you to go to the phone manufacturer rather than deal with it as they should?
OR
4. Do they tell whatever it takes to get you off the line?

(OR maybe all of the above  )

My humble opinion :"the guy who only wants everybody to like him will never be a great leader."
sure Vodacom as a company can and will never be trusted/liked by all its consumers ,to think or suggest that would be ignorant.Do they have problems?? hell if they didnt I would b weary of doing any business with them at all.......the thing that most impresses me about Vodacom at present (90% due to their presence on this forum) is the lengths they tend to go to in addressing the issues.Sure we could all sit back and say Dam Macdonalds to hell for making so many fat people....but do we then boycott farms for herding cattle?
on another point "Debbie2,Allan must have really stuck it to you" sheeeesh I havent seen this much contempt since the Sadam trial............
anywho that was my 2rands worth .......does that mean i just wasted a meg?

I believe that if you are respectfull to the person on the other line theyll go out of their way to help you!

If you wana bark and order, you not gonna get anywhere... Iv been more than compensated by this company and i think mostly that they there to help and thats all i need whoever owns 50% of them is irrelevant to my needs and problems whatever they may be!

Vodacom is my 1st choice SP, MTNs a bunch of idiots.... IMHO!

Data needs to be reduced... Vodacom was able to reduce it by like 90%, shows how it was overpriced

so when is the next Telkomdemonopoly and Vodahell gonna cut the prices again? Eskom just started power shaping, so now we are totally screwd :(

As a user of all 3 cellular networks, I found that when HSCSD was around MTN had by far superior knowledge and support of their networks. However since the launch of GPRS and 3G from Vodacom ( EDGE on MTN ) Vodacom in general has by far surpassed MTN with regards to data support and willingness to assist and provide support to the end consumer.

I dont think Telkom had much to do with the service drive or the price reduction of data. So in my mind Telkom is piggy backing on a cash cow.

Mtn has just got worse over the years. But MNP is around the corner and I think they will feel the brunt of that.
