Help on choosing a GoPro

Apologies for the thread hijack, but would a gopro or cheaper alternative be more suited for in car vids or other vids for vlogging purposes? Any recommendations (not too expensive) would be appreciated.

If you sitting at a desk and have an external mic with the external adapter then sure. The problem with GoPro and audio is waterproofing, it's not easy to waterproof a mic. The Hero 7 is where they finally fixed, I just got on Monday and the sound quality is light years ahead of what it used to be, perfect for action type videos and that, has a lot less wind noise.

If you gonna get that cheaper Hero 2018 which is like 3k, you still sitting with the crap Mic issue.

Really depends on what you want to vlog, at your desk you may as well get a proper HD webcam and a good mic, the combination should run like say 2-2.5k for good stuff. Out in the real world if you cheap out on the camera you're likely to get crappy audio and will need for fork out like 6 grand for a gimbal to make the video footage usable.

I'd recommend to buy gopro hero 2018 for R3000 on takelot. Then firmware hack it. The only limitations on that gopro was it's firmware which was downgraded.

It seems to be exactly the gopro hero 5 black version... Which is R5400 or something.

Hi everyone, got myself a new go pro hero 7 black.

Can someone please recommend a good extra battery for it?
I was going to get this one:

but found out there is a better version.
There are different versions? 3 years with a gopro and this is the first I am hearing. I just assumed u got the legits and knockoffs.

That link obviously being the later. Honestly I feel within reason a battery is a battery, with use legit or knockoff they both gonna die at some point how much better the branded one vs the non branded one is probably falls in line at the qc section. Official ones are probably less likely to have duds. Personally I have only bought the originals, did not even think to looks for others, which now that I think of it is silly, but I never saw them as expensive considering the cost of the camera, think they were like R350 each.

Yeah its not a bad price, but with the charger it jumps to almost R1000
