Here is what will happen when Cell C shuts down its network

Look at this Cell nonsens over 30 years:

SA Post Office Telecommunications.....
Telkom divided from Post Office (1991).....Ongoing.
Telkom create Vodacom in 50/50 collaboration with Vodaphone in 1994 .....Ongoing.
MTN appears in 1994 .....Ongoing.
Cell C appears in 2001 .....Ongoing.
Telkom sell its remaining stake in Vodacom in 2008 - Why?
Telkom launches 8ta in 2010...it became Telkom Mobile and then just Telkom .....Ongoing.

To me this scenario looks like a fiasco....? Why all this-?

FTFY. It looks like a fiasco cause you got time lines and a bunch of other stuff wrong, so I have fixed it for you.

Telkom knows selling stake in very profitable Vodacom was wrong ,they probably thought they could do it more profitably on own at the time.

Their CEO says Cell C won't be a MNVO, something about still owning their core or some such, it's in one of those "Cell C CEO says funny things" articles that were done here recently.

Yup the Cell C CEO is quite a funny bunny. Just a few days ago an article stated that Cell C is fine and the losses is all due to X and Y but nothing to be concerned over along with an article from Cell stating Vodacom and MTN is running a losing business bla bla bla and then few days later, "Cell C is shutting down".

I guess this is what happens when you have a schitzo CEO running your company, always kicking the blame bucket down the street.

I hope Rain buys some of their equipment and spectrum, clearly their existing infrastructure is insufficient for all the customers they bait into using their service.

They can't sell their spectrum.
