Hello Everyone... Does anyone know if Vodacom and MTN keep cellphone records, like my SMS messages (Sent and Recieved) from 2005... see thing is I need to get copies of these SMS's, that is the content and detail, etc.

Any help, any comment, will be appreciated.

Nashuamobile Has not been very helpful with this so I need to explore other options.
 
forget it- even if they do, you dont stand a chance of getting it...
the investigators in Zumas rape trial only got the date and time of smses without the content ..... so u can forget ever getting it

How far back? Im sure you can get billing from 24 months back but only of sms sent, no recieved sms are recorded and u can never get sms contents.

Whats the reason?
 
all calls/smses are logged with you s/p. they have records incase you're involved in a violent crime/terrorism, it's all stored with them, but the hard part is getting that info...

you'll have to take it to court. 1 of my customers managed to get 2 smses he had received a while back after he took a guy to court for putting a "hit" on him. some long story, but anyway, he took 4 months to get vodacom to pass the smses onto the police, then his case only got reviewed.

at the end of the day, it's up to the s/p to release that info, and it's not very likely that you gonna get it
 
yeah, it is actually scary, knowing that some fart at vodacom/mnt/cell c could be copying all your private mmses and making up his own data base...

PS on that note delete all pics before sending yr phone in for repairs.
 
no i don't... but i know there are many ppl that do... as for porn on phones that come in for repair, there's a mega load on it! and most is home made... it's actually annoying when u have to test a phone for camera fault, u get a msg, memory full, so u go into gallery to delete so u can take a pic and BAM... your customers ass!

Ye and some are so stupid they delete all the pics in the gallery but leave the mms in their sent/inboxes!:p
