How much is needed to launch an App

I know that I am late to the party, but:
What makes this different from the yellow pages and hundreds of other local directories? What is going to draw people to use this app, instead of just googling info on their phone?

Asked not to mock the idea, I am always curious as to how people think.

No right or wrong answer to this, but umm, "Yellow Pages for Dog Sitters" is one way of starting out.

Following what many Tech companies have done in the past, they've started out super niche.

Eg Facebook didn't start off as a social network for the whole family like it is today... it was specifically targeted at University students and not any student - it started out exclusive to Harvard University students only.
