How much space does Vista use after installation?

My C drive is only 5G,I am not sure if it is enough.

Kidding, most definitely won't be enough. You'd be lucky if you could get even XP working smoothly on it.

My XP is running smoothly on it,and it only takes 1.7G after I installed all my softwares on my D drive.

Ja, no need to laugh.. its a partition kinda thing. Why buy a big expensive drive just for Windows? That is stupid..

And of course XP will work smoothly on that.

But 10gigs is quite a bit..

Best I reckon is 20GB 7200 for windows and another disk for data. Move your pagefile to the second disk to improve performance. Reading and writing across spindles is a better ideas than having 1 set of heads doing the work on a single spindle.
