Huawei Matebook D14

Please share the ownership experience as time goes by, would be interesting to know.

My wife has the D14, nice machine except for the fact that it doesn’t get near the advertised battery life, and it overheats very quickly.

That webcam that pops out of the keyboard is also very annoying, the angle is too weird, so much so that she disables it when on video calls.

Will do so, yeah the webcam position is not ideal but it's not a deal breaker as the machine isn't my daily driver.

Right here are my initial impressions - haven't had the need to use the machine extensively as I've been desk bound.

It's a beautifully made machine, full aluminium/metal housing from what I can tell, slim and fits into my Targus 14" sleeve comfortably.

The screen is stunning, slim bezels and I like the 3-2 aspect ratio for work.

Boot up and login - snappy AF - love Windows hello and using the fingerprint reader to login.

Keys are a nice size for my clumsy fingers, fewer typing errors than on my full size Microsoft keyboard. Soft to the touch with decent feedback.

It's handled simple multitasking so far without skipping a beat.

I'll be working remotely on Friday and will put the battery to the test and advise.

All in all happy with the purchase.

Right, battery life - Definitely not the claimed 11 hours, more like 3 hours when performing day to day browsing and running multiple Office programmes.

The claimed 11 hours refers to media streaming from what I've picked up on aunty Google.

WTG to heating issues, the unit gets warm but not to the extent that it's a concern.

This thing is amazing. Will charge it up and give you more hours. So could potentially extend those 3 hours to a full day's work.
