I currently have an i-mate pocket pc phone edition and am quite happy with it.
The upgrade bug has been nibbling at me and so I have decided to, at least, have a look at my options.

I am trying to decide whether I should get the i-mate Jam, i-mate Jamin or i-mate K-jam

Right now its a between the Jam and K-jam ... anyone have an opinion ?

If you have the bucks, spring for a JasJam, also sold as HTC TyTn.

Between the JAM and the JAMin, no contest. The JAMin has a newer OS(WM5), Wireless lan, EDGE and a better camera.

Between the K-Jam and the JAMin, there is less in it. You have to decide whether the extra 5mm thickness of the KJam is a worthy sacrifice for the convenience of having a qwerty keyboard. To me it is, but to you, who knows.
Also the K-Jam has a 1.3mp camera vs the JAMin's 2mp one, but you should not allow this to influence your decision.

Anyway, for ease of use :

My 2 cents ... the K-Jam and the Jammin wont cut the mustard for you ... your current pocket pc has a 400 Mhz processor as opposed to the Ti OMAP 195 Mhz processor in the Jammin and the K-Jam.

What you gonna do with the old i-mate? Willing to sell?

520 Mhz processor, this device has a built-in overclocking utility.

i have the imate kjam and its not all together bad, but given the option i would go for the jas jar or whateva its called.

k-jam is slow and sometimes slow actually most if the time it is slow :D

also too big and difficult to use with one hand.

Yeah, will agree it can be sluggish at times. I've overclocked mine, so don't notice too much. Using with one hand is not really an option... but I still wouldn't give mine up. I use it a lot to reply to email and such, so the qwerty keyboard is great... don't think I'd be able to use a normal phone again

Hey, dont get a JasJar please!!! I mean it's wonderful PDA but the thing is a BRICK, huge & heavy. I'm getting a JasJam (HTC TyTn). That's a good one, depending on what you are looking for.

So you can load WM5 on over mobile 2003?

Sorry, this is a bit off topic, but I have a buddy with a ipaq 4700, and he's been wanting to do that.

Just had my trusted and much loved imate pocket pc nabbed by a smash and grab at traffic lights....@##$##@#$$. Would be very interested in your pda2. Hope it would sync up with pc and recover my lost data!
