IBM thinkpad R40e - USB1 to 2 Upgrade/Update

Hi guys

i just got a IBM thinkpad R40e laptop and it has USB 1 on it.
I've searched for a bit around the web and well still the same.
is it possible to update the USB1 to USB2?
If so how can i do it?

Get a PCMCIA USB2.0 card. It works.

Not by software. It will probably require a motherboard swop to accomplish an "upgrade" to USB 2.0

Yeah, pretty much the only thing you can do is get a USB 2.0 PCMCIA adapter - like Goobie suggested
